Rockwool insulation

I am looking for some rockwool insulation as I am finally getting around to re-conditioning my C model. I remember Steve the (certainly not undertain) Uncertain Stoveman had some for sale for a while. Tura emailed his ebay site but I did not see any listed.

A little help please.

Aaron - welcome back!!! Sometimes Sam (not "Steve") is off-line for a while - he travels alot, I understand. If you send him an e-mail thru this site, his wife will oftentimes answer back, and she can tell you about the Rockwool.

Just a totally curious question........
What model do you have and where are you replacing it on your stove???

We did a restoration on our 1939 14-B and our rockwool was in such pristine condition. We went on the theory and advise....Don't fix whats not broken.
I've seen some Chambers on e-bay that looked like they were out in the weather for many years and always wondered about the damage to the insulation.

You might try PM Uncertain Stoveman about the rockwool.

Hello, I have ordered another 200 pounds of Chambers style Rockwool and it should be available in a couple of weeks. Wow, there are a lot of Chambers folks out there. I have sold 200 pounds of rockwool in the last 6 months. I thought the market was saturated, but Chambers is still growing! Watch ebay for my listings of Rockwool. My previous offer of 2 pounds for 8 bucks is still open to members of this group. That's enough to repack the oven door and have some left for other parts of the range. Thanks, Sam

Wow!. Thanks for all of the good input. Tura that was not me. You know I did see a beat up B model in Philadelphia (propane) last week and I felt that pang of guilt toward my neglected nat gas B-model that will be sold for parts. I have too much committed to the C-model that is in wonderful shape. Besides the divorce papers would have been filed if I back-tracked from teh had to have C-model.

Insulation was poor condition due to large amounts of saw dust (small particles) that fell into the stove and made their way into the insulation. Thought better to replace than test ignition ppint of sawdust.

Sam sorry for the Steve reference. I look forward to your order coming in and purchasing some new insulation. This obsessive compulsive restoration is all Tura's fault.
